Pfäffikon belongs to the canton of Schwyz and is located on the southern part of Lake Zurich. It is connected with Rapperswil via the Seedamm. The largest covered swimming pool in Europe, the Alpamare, is located in the town. Only a few steps away you will find the Seedamm Center, a large shopping mall. In the lower village, close to Lake Zurich, stands the Pfäffikon Castle Tower. It is the last relic of a castle complex from the 13th century. The Etzel, located to the south, is considered the local mountain of Pfäffikon. A pass road with the Meinrad fountain leads over it at 1096 m above sea level. St. Meinrad's Chapel, dedicated to St. Meinrad of Einsiedeln, is also located at the top of the pass.
