Matten bei Interlaken borders directly on southern Interlaken. The small community is located on the alluvial plain, the so-called "Bödeli" between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. Embedded in fantastic nature and the Alps of the Bernese Oberland, the surrounding area offers a variety of sporting and cultural leisure activities. In winter, the Jungfrau ski areas make the region one of the most popular ski resorts in Switzerland, while in summer, visitors enjoy countless hiking and mountain biking trails as well as great activities on the two lakes. The region is also unique for paragliders. The Tell open-air games and the Jungfrau Park in Matten attract many tourists.
