The simple ticket for the Moosalp-Express chairlift allows you to comfortably ascend from the valley station in Bürchen to the intermediate station Chalte Bodu.
From there, several winter hiking trails start, leading through the snowy landscape of the Moosalp region.
We present three popular hikes. You can also perfectly combine them.
Winter Hike Chalte Bodu–Moosalp:
- Length: 2.8 km
- Duration: about 0.5 hours
- Elevation gain: 140 m ascent
- Difficulty: easy
The winter hike begins with a cozy chairlift ride from Bürchen to Chalte Bodu. After disembarking, the path leads gently to the Nassen Pletscha and then follows the alpine road. The road also serves as a toboggan track and takes you up to Moosalp.
After about 50 minutes, you reach Moosalp, where you can strengthen yourself in the restaurant. If you wish to take a break along the way, there's an opportunity for an apéro at either the Panorama restaurant or the Chopfab-Bar.
Winter Hike Moosalp–Bürchen:
- Length: 5.4 km
- Duration: about 2 hours
- Elevation drop: 630 m descent
- Difficulty: medium
This route takes you down from Moosalp to Bürchen through snow-covered forests and open clearings. It is ideal for a hike with views of the Valais mountain world.
Loop Hike Moosalp:
- Length: 3.7 km
- Duration: about 1 hour 20 minutes
- Elevation gain/loss: 180 m ascent and descent
- Difficulty: easy
The loop path starts and ends at the Moosalp mountain station. It's perfect for relaxed walks with panoramic views and can be well combined with the winter hikes Chalte Bodu–Moosalp and Moosalp-Bürchen for a longer hike.
The ticket is only valid for a one-time ascent and allows you to explore the winter hiking area flexibly. The paths are well signposted and offer snow reliability as well as diverse landscapes.
