You will be transported in a carriage with large panoramic windows by a historic steam engine up the mountain. The journey takes you through deep green forests and past typical Swiss pastures with cows. At the top of the Brienzer Rothorn, you will be greeted with breathtaking views of over 690 mountain peaks and the sparkling Brienz Lake.

Please note that during times of high visitor numbers or if a steam locomotive experiences technical issues, diesel engines may be used for passenger service. However, this is an exception. In case this happens, ticket refunds are not possible.

Your ticket guarantees a seat with free choice of seating. It’s especially worth arriving early at the station during peak season to secure a good spot.

In Brienz, you board the wonderful panoramic carriage and the historic steam locomotive begins your ascent up the mountain.
