The Jungfraujoch is part of the UNESCO World Heritage region Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn. At an elevation of 3,454 meters, it houses the highest train station in Europe.
The eternal snow provides opportunities for winter hikes even in midsummer on the plateau. The Sphinx Observation Building offers fantastic views at an altitude of 3,571 meters. Among the attractions is the Ice Palace, a 1,000 square meter ice labyrinth.
Winter sports enthusiasts can shorten the wait for the next season in the ski and snowboard park. On the Glacier Trek, you can take glacier hikes or join one of the guided glacier tours or high-altitude ski tours offered.
The Kleine Scheidegg is located at 2,070 m above sea level and can be easily reached from Wengen via the Wengernalp Bahn. From here, there are beautiful hiking paths to Jungfraujoch. In summer, the pass is a paradise with many hiking routes. In winter, the ski lifts take winter sports enthusiasts to the slopes. The Jungfrau Railway also stops here, in addition to the Wengernalp Bahn. In September, Kleine Scheidegg is the destination for the Jungfrau Marathon.
A worthwhile trip is to Lauterbrunnen Valley, which delights with 72 waterfalls. Among them are the Trümmelbach Falls, 10 glacial waterfalls inside a mountain. Access is provided via a tunnel lift. The waterfalls are illuminated. The fact that they are accessible despite being located inside a mountain is unique in Europe.

Eiger Run
The Eiger Run toboggan run is a special experience. The Eiger north face is also very impressive when seen from below. You can shorten the 13 km route as you wish and return at any time with the Wengernalpbahn.
The vacation village above the Lauterbrunnen valley is an ideal destination for the whole family all year round. In winter it invites not only skiers but also winter hikers. In summer, 500 kilometers of hiking trails and 15 mountain railroads are waiting for you to discover the mountain world.

Winter activities:
In summer, the charming resort village of Wengen is perfect for hiking. At Männlichen, you can enjoy exhilarating rides on the Summer Gemel or take the informative Royal Walk. The Wengen Männlichen cable car takes you comfortably to the mountain, where you'll have a fantastic view of the towering peaks.
The Panorama Trail leads to Kleine Scheidegg. It's especially loved by hikers who enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery. The trail passes steeply rising cliffs, along the Tschuggen to Honegg and Rotstöcki. The route descends gently, making it ideal for leisurely hikers. You'll need about 1.5 hours to cover the 4.5 km. From Kleine Scheidegg, you can take the cog train back to Wengen.
The Romantic Trail stretches for 7.2 km to Alpiglen. You'll hike through an almost untouched alpine landscape. In the meadows and pastures, alpine flowers like anemones, gentians, and alpine roses bloom. The trail takes you through the Devil’s Gorge, passing the Arvengarten all the way to Alpiglen. If you find the way down too easy, simply turn around and tackle the 600 meters of elevation gain instead.
You don't always have to take the cable car. A lovely hiking path leads down to the village, which hosts the Lauberhorn race in January, starting from Männlichen. The five kilometers become quite the workout if you tackle the uphill route, overcoming nearly 950 meters of elevation. But the Chamois Trail is also rewarding when going downhill.
The trail has its name for a reason: Chamois can often be spotted in groups along the slopes, and if you're lucky, you can observe them with binoculars. From the Männlichen mountain restaurant, the trail initially heads to Parwengi.
If you prefer a gentler route, take the easier option via Steinenwald and Chilchenstein from here. For a rougher experience, follow the path through Äusseren Allmend to Wengen, leading to the sunny plateau above the Lauterbrunnen Valley.
If you want to push your limits, the Eiger Trail, a moderately difficult mountain hiking path, might be the right challenge for you. You'll need crampons, a rope, and carabiners for this trek. The trail begins at the Eigergletscher station. On this mountain path, you'll have direct views of the Lauberhorn, Kleine Scheidegg, and Grindelwald.
You’ll experience the impressive and nearly mystical Eiger north face right at your feet. To spot a climbing party high above, it’s worth bringing binoculars. The trail takes you past roaring streams and waterfalls, and through steep alpine meadows. The path leads to the Alpiglen train station.
Cyclists will find a fantastic backdrop in addition to the sporting challenges. The Wengernalpbahn also takes the bike. A particularly beautiful bike tour runs through the Lauterbrunnen Valley.
The tour starts in Lauterbrunnen and goes to Stechelberg along the waterfalls. As soon as you are on the forest road, the gradient increases slightly. You ride along the Weisse Lütschine to Trachsellauenen. The path goes back the same way.
With a Summer Gemel (also known as Mountaincart) you can drive down the slope between the top station Männlichen and the middle station Holenstein in summer. The route for the Summer Gemel starts at an altitude of 2,225 meters and leads down about 600 meters over a length of 6 kilometers.
Tickets are available at the mountain railroad stores in Wengen, Grindelwald or directly at the Männlichen mountain station. The Gemel sled is issued in the Pit Shop at the top station and must be returned in person at the Holenstein middle station
A paragliding flight over the high plateau and the Lauterbrunnen Valley is a special experience. Tandem flights are offered by experienced pilots
