Description
Experience a true adventure and climb with a professional mountain guide through the via ferrata of Gorner Schlucht. The dynamic course offers abseils, tyroliennes, pendulums, bridges and spectacular rock formations, polished by the glacier, towering over rivers and nature.
You will meet your guide (and depending on the offer, your group) at the agreed meeting point in Zermatt. The easiest way is to meet at the home base of the provider. Here you can get your equipment and familiarize yourself with the upcoming experience. You will then go together to the starting point of the via ferrata
After a leisurely walk into the gorge, the adventure begins. A 10-meter rappelling point heralds the start of the via ferrata. After that, it's over rocks, logs, ladders, tyroliennes and footbridges deep into the gorge and over roaring rivers. Your guide will always make sure that you get over every obstacle safely.After this great climbing experience, it's a leisurely walk back to Zermatt via the hiking trail.
Practical Information:
- The via ferrata is category K2 (out of 6) medium difficulty level
- Requirements: suitable for sporty people without great climbing experience
- Take harness, helmet, gloves, small backpack with drink and food (via ferrata set can also be rented)
- Do not forget sunglasses and sunscreen
- 2-3 days before the tour you should call to discuss weather conditions and details
Swiss Activities Tip
In October, between 14:00 and 16:00, there are very special light conditions that make the water shine in bright turquoise colors.
