Via Ferrata Engstligenalp for Beginners

The via ferrata "Chäligang" leads along the impressive Engstligen Falls from "Unter dem Birg" up to Engstligenalp. The guided tour starts at the valley station of the Engstligenalp cable car.

After the necessary equipment is provided, there is a approximately 20-minute walk to the start of the via ferrata. The route with the difficulty level K2 (moderately difficult) is also suitable for beginners and families.

During the ascent, spectacular views of the waterfall and the Engstligtal open up. After the via ferrata, you will reach Engstligenalp.

The tour ends at Engstligenalp. The return journey is individual by train or on foot.

Practical information:

• At the valley station of the Engstligenalp cable car, around 600 free parking spaces are available.

Difficulty K2:

• Sectionally in steeper rock terrain, but the route is well secured
• Steep or vertical passages are mitigated by ladders and/or iron grips
• Even in less difficult terrain, wire ropes or chains secure the via ferrata climber
