Description
The Schynige Platte Railway has been running on the same picturesque route between Wilderswil and Schynige Platte since 1893. Once at the top, you will enjoy not only the wonderful view of the Bernese Oberland, but also a rich fauna and a lot of Swiss tradition.

Bottom station: Wilderswil
Intermediate station: Breitlauenen at the mountain inn Breitlauenen
Mountain station: Schynige Platte
Practical information:
- The Schynige Platte cable car is equipped with wooden benches
- Dogs travel free of charge
- The valley station is located at the Wilderswil train station
- Due to bad weather conditions there may be train cancellations
Swiss Activities Tip
The Schynige Platte bears the nickname "Top of Swiss tradition". The Swiss Flower & Panorama Trail, a botanical alpine garden and alphorn players between 11:00 and 14:00 await you here.
