Sursee is a small town in the canton of Lucerne, beautifully located by Lake Sempach. The old town is known for its well-preserved historical buildings, including the Lucerne Gate and St. George's parish church. Sursee has a vibrant cultural scene with events and markets that attract visitors from all over the region. Lake Sempach is great for swimming, boating, and stand-up paddling. There is a bird sanctuary by the lake and lovely walking and biking paths. A short hike leads to the idyllic Mauensee, a small lake with a castle island. The view of Mauensee Castle is particularly beautiful.
