Day pass for Swiss Half Fare Card holders
You can use the day pass in combination with the Swiss Half Fare Card for your trip anywhere in Switzerland. So you travel during one day (until 5:00 am the following day) with all means of public transport. This includes boats, buses, post buses and streetcars. Even the world-famous panorama trains are included in the day pass! However, you will have to pay extra for seat reservations.
Excluded from this Day Pass are the mountain railroads - except for the Rigi and the Stanserhorn. You can see which routes you can use on the map for the GA area of validity.
Travelling in a wheelchair
- Passengers in wheelchairs are increasingly finding means of transport with low-floor access.
- The SBB Callcenter Handicap organizes assistance when changing trains where platforms have not yet been raised and floors not yet adapted. It helps you to prepare barrier-free travel or if you need assistance en route.
- Ships are almost completely wheelchair accessible in 2nd class, provided that mechanical wheelchairs are used.
Travelling with a stroller
- If possible, you should go with a foldable stroller. It comes almost everywhere with you.
Travelling with a dog
- Dogs up to an instep height of 30 cm travel free of charge on SBB. Condition: He is placed in a suitable basket or transport box and is pushed under the seat as hand luggage. As soon as he is not (anymore) in the container, he needs his own ticket.
- For all other dogs, a ticket is always required. A dog day ticket is recommended as a combination with the SBB Half-Fare travelcard.
Where in the Jungfrau Region is the Day Pass for Swiss Half Fare Card holders valid?
This day pass does not entitle you to a discount on the mountain railways in Switzerland (except Stanserhorn and Rigi). This means that you cannot travel more cheaply on the following mountain railways around Interlaken: Harder Kulm, Schynige Platte, Jungfraujoch, Grindelwald First and Schilthorn.
However, you can use the day pass as far as Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Mürren and Wengen and buy your ticket to the mountain summit from there.
