Out and about with a wheelchair, stroller, or dog
Almost all trains are easily accessible by wheelchair. However, there are still stations that are not yet fully accessible.
If you're using a wheelchair or stroller, it's recommended to travel to Jungfraujoch on the 3S-Bahn Eiger Express from Grindelwald Terminal (via Eigergletscher station).
Groups with 3 or more wheelchairs should inform the ticket officer at the departure station about their journey. This way, any necessary assistance can be arranged.
You can book free boarding and alighting help up to 24 hours in advance through the "SBB Call Center Handicap".
All BLS scheduled ships allow access with wheelchairs or strollers to the main deck (2nd class). There are also wheelchair-accessible toilets available there.
Not all mountain railways have been adapted yet to carry wheelchairs. Often, wheelchairs can only be taken if folded. Be sure to check with the operator of the planned mountain railway beforehand.
Dogs sometimes travel for free on public transport. If you want to travel worry-free, you can buy a Bernese Oberland Pass for your dog at a fixed price of CHF 30. This price applies for all time periods equally. Even for the 10-day pass, you only pay CHF 30 for your dog.
Important Information
Please check the schedules on the SBB website or app on your travel day. Some services may be closed at the start and end of the season.
No partial refunds will be provided.
