Postbus ticket between Chur and Bellinzona

Depending on your ticket, you start in Chur or Bellinzona. Here we describe the route from Chur. From Bellinzona, everything runs in the opposite direction.

From Chur, take the Postbus line 171 on your way to Bellinzona through Domleschg, a wide valley. It has the highest density of castles in Europe. The Postbus travels along the Viamala Gorge to Thusis.

The San Bernardino Tunnel is 6.6 km long and connects south-eastern Switzerland with Ticino. You travel through the southern Misox valley to Bellinzona with its three medieval castles. You can get off at any stop along the way and explore a place individually, enjoy the view or the hiking and biking routes. The outwardly rather inconspicuous church of St. Martin in Zillis is well worth a visit. Inside you will discover a precious cultural treasure. The ceiling is adorned with 153 Romanesque wooden panels that were painted 900 years ago. A small exhibition provides information about the history of the panels.

• The Postbuses are generally equipped for the transportation of wheelchairs. The door for wheelchair access has a corresponding symbol.
• The Postbus between Chur and Bellinzona has an integrated lift that is operated by the driver (no advance notice required). This is marked as HL in the SBB timetable.

• Small dogs up to 30 cm are free of charge if they remain in a transport container for the entire journey. This must be pushed under your seat.
• Dogs without a container and all dogs over 30 cm shoulder height require a valid dog ticket: half the price of 2nd class or the minimum fare (Dog Day Pass, Dog Pass). They must sit under the seat so that the passageway is not blocked for other passengers.
