Description
The Hölloch in the rural and beautiful Muotathal is one of the largest explored caves in the whole world. An incredible 200 kilometers have already been explored. Underground water was able to create the cave system for over a million years
The guided tour through the cave is a very special experience, because you can walk an underground climbing path. You climb, crawl and climb up and down ladders. Nevertheless, this excursion is no problem at all with normal condition!
In front of the guard house you will meet your guide and other participants. Afterwards, the guide will provide you with everything you need for the cave tour. Your guide will explain what you need to know for the experience. During the tour through the cave you will be provided with exciting information about the history, the rocks or the animals living in the cave. The underground climbing park consists of side passages, bottlenecks, ladders, deep sections and much more. A real experience where you will see impressive rock formations and stalactites! In good weather conditions you can also admire sinter formations, which are entered only barefoot for their protection, or discover the cave surface on a karst hike.

- Cave temperature is 6°C all year round, humidity almost 100%
- Thermal underwear is highly recommended, especially for people who are sensitive to the cold
- Cave barbecue area is available for guests free of charge, reservation of the barbecue area in the forest in advance
Swiss Activities Tip
Good news: Neither claustrophobia nor fear of heights is a problem in the cave hole, according to experience. The narrowest parts are very easy to cross and the darkness in the cave does not allow you to look into the depths.
