This cave expedition will take you through the beautiful Hellhole. Experience underground waterfalls, natural cave slides and spectacular rock formations! One of the largest cave systems in the world is located in the middle of the dreamy Muotathal: the Hölloch. On this tour, discover a part of the over 200 kilometers deep cave and let yourself be enchanted by rock formations and beautiful stalactites.

A qualified guide will lead you through the subterranean climbing paradise and provide you with interesting facts about the cave and its formation. You will also get to know the fauna of the cave by observing a cave crab. At the restaurant Hölloch you and your group will meet your certified cave guide at 9:99 am. Over a delicious croissant and a hot drink you will discuss the tour.

First of all you will be equipped with the necessary equipment for this expedition and all important information about safety and behavior will be explained to you. Your expedition starts at the entrance of the cave and leads through the huge main passage to the giant hall. From here the ascent to the Dombiwak begins. On ropes, over ladders and bridges you follow the path under the professional guidance of your cave guide. You will arrive at the 30 meter high underground waterfall "Water Dome". From there you continue to the new cave bivouac and then to the beautiful glittering gate with its shimmering crystals. Before you leave the cave again, the so-called "snake" awaits you, a 300 meter long natural stone slide. This fun descent will bring you back to the Giant Hall and then back to the surface. After your ascent to Dombiwak you can take a break and have lunch.

Practical Information:

• Not suitable for people with claustrophobia
• Prerequisites: good physical fitness, climbing experience, surefootedness and ability to march, no fear of heights
• The excursion corresponds approximately to a mountain hike T3
• Cave temperature all year round 6°C, humidity almost 100%
• Dress: Good shoes, warm wool socks, long thermal underwear, turtleneck sweater, jogging pants or leggings, over old clothes that are allowed to get dirty and strained
• Bring: Sturdy backpack with lunch, water bottle and high-energy snacks, fiber-fur jacket
• From 6 to max. 10 people feasible, smaller groups can join other groups
