Locarno

The city of Locarno is located on the northern shore of Lake Maggiore and the Maggia Delta. The warmest city in Switzerland is known for the Città Vecchia, the old town with cafes, boutiques and stately homes. The narrow streets all lead to the Piazza Grande. Concerts, the Locarno Film Festival and other cultural events are held here. The district of Locarno lies in a horseshoe shape around the Maggia Valley. It is bordered by Monte Tamaro to the south on the border with Lugano. The right arc lies between Poncione Piancascia, Cima di Bri and Cima dell'' Uomo.
