Kaserne Basel was built in 1863 as a military site. Today, it serves as an important cultural center in the heart of Basel. Kaserne Basel is a hub for contemporary theater, dance, and innovative pop music. Each year, around 270 events take place here, attracting over 50,000 visitors. For events like the Basel Tattoo, a temporary arena with up to 8,000 seats is set up in the courtyard. The riding hall and the two stables can accommodate up to 1,700 guests. The riding hall hosts theater and dance performances, while the stables are used for smaller events.
