Ticket funicular Treib-Seelisberg
Boat trip to/from Treib
You take the funicular from Treib to Seelisberg. The ride takes about eight minutes. Over a length of just under 1.2 km, the little funicular climbs 369 meters in altitude.
Hiking trails and a historical open-air exhibition on the Rütli meadow await you in Seelisberg. You can swim in the crystal-clear Seelisberger Bergseeli. There is also a kiosk and rowing and pedalo boats for hire.
A short walk will also take you to a cheese dairy, the Schiller balcony with its magnificent panoramic views, a pilgrimage chapel and a large children's playground.
Practical information:
The Rütli Oath is said to have been signed on the Rütli meadow in 1291. The alliance was made by representatives of the three original cantons of Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden (now Obwalden and Nidwalden). This is why the Rütli, as the "cradle of Switzerland", has the character of a national monument. There is a Seelisberg-Rütli hiking trail with information boards.
