This day hike takes you across the mountains at the foot of the deep blue Lake Walen to an alp. Your guide will accompany you and provide you with lots of information and anecdotes about the Swiss alpine economy and Swiss traditions.
Lake Walen is located in the cantons of St. Gallen and Glarus and due to its location in the middle of the valley it is one of the coldest large lakes in Switzerland. On both sides of the lake, steep slopes rise up to 1000 meters high. Your tour winds along exactly one of these and promises great views into the depths!
**You can expect a day hike on the slopes of the beautiful Lake Walen with a local, professional guide from Zurich!

You start: your hike.
The route leads you along mountain paths and narrow alpine roads, past extensive alpine pastures and through spruce and mountain pine forests. If you feel like it, you can grill a sausage at a barbecue site in typical Swiss fashion.
The path leads uphill and you reach the alp Furgglen. Here you can experience the intensive cultivation of the Swiss Alps during the summer and watch the cows grazing peacefully. Breathe in the mountain air one last time and enjoy the magnificent view again before the descent.
