Herznach is a village in the center of the Jurapark Aargau in the Staffelegg valley. The village grew together from the lower village around the church and the upper village. In the upper village there was a mill. The church is particularly worth seeing, as it was built in the form of a fortified church. The whole region has been known for mining since the Middle Ages. The Herznach iron mine and its tunnels were in operation for 40 years in the 20th century. Today they can be visited as a museum. (Photo: Jurapark Aargau)
