Rent a mountain bike or e-mountain bike

If you prefer to rent a mountain bike on site, you will usually find a rental facility near the mountain railroads. For particularly long tours, it's best to rent an e-mountain bike. It supports you when needed, so that you progress with less energy expenditure.

By the way, certain mountain railroads offer the possibility to take your bike with you. However, the railroads regulate this very differently. Some take the mountain bike only on the first and last ride, others always and some not at all. There are even mountain railroads (like the one of Tschentenalp that take your mountain bike for free. Before a planned tour you should inform yourself, so that you do not have to experience unpleasant surprises.

Some mountain railroads that transport mountain bikes

E-bikes are not transported by all cable cars. For example, the Firstbahnen transport bikes, but not e-bikes. Please be sure to check before you arrive.
