Ticket Forum Swiss History Schwyz

The museum is housed in a baroque grain and armory building from 1711. The three upper floors contain the permanent exhibition, while the basement features constantly changing special exhibitions.

With an admission ticket to the Forum Swiss History Schwyz, you gain access to all exhibitions. The permanent exhibition highlights the formation of Switzerland in the Middle Ages. It presents valuable objects from various regions and utilizes interactive media stations for a deeper engagement.

In the attic, you first encounter a life-sized knight on his horse. You recognize the dependencies and relationships between the people and the nobility, as well as between the church and the king. The time of upheaval is illustrated in a scriptorium, a chancery, and a lecture hall.

A mountain massif of the Alps runs through the entire museum and allows you to consistently immerse yourself in the everyday world of medieval life.

In addition to the permanent exhibition, you can visit changing special exhibitions that delve into various aspects of Swiss history and culture.

• Paid parking available in the Hofmatt parking garage, directly next to the museum
• Good connection to public transport (directly opposite the bus stop "Schwyz Zentrum")
• From Schwyz train station, take bus No. 501 towards Muotathal

After visiting the museum, we recommend a short trip to Stoos. You can reach it by bus and funicular in just 20 minutes. The steepest funicular in the world is already a special attraction in itself. Stoos offers a beautiful view of the surrounding area. Here you can wonderfully enjoy nature while reflecting on your experiences.

This ticket can be used for 14 days in the other museums of the Swiss National Museum (National Museum Zurich and Château de Prangins).
