Rheinfelden is a beautiful town that has a German and a Swiss part. On the Swiss side, a wonderful family tour awaits you, dedicated entirely to the saga of the cunning tailor. In the Middle Ages the city was besieged by the Swedes. The story tells of a tailor who cunningly managed to drive away the Swedes. This serves as a thread for the old town tour, which enchants young and old
The family tour starts directly in the courtyard of the town hall where the guide in a goat costume will pick you up. The children will be thrilled! The tour is designed for children and promises humorous but also historical stories about the city and legends. City guide Stephan Schöttli in the goat costume has designed this tour and is a former teacher. Especially the visit to the little goats grazing in front of the city is a real highlight for the little ones.
Together with your family, experience an exciting and fun tour through the small town of Rheinfelden and let yourself be captivated by the legend of the tailor. On the eastern edge of town, climb the tower that is now known as the home of storks. The view from the Kupfertor tower can be enjoyed from the balcony. From here you can see the entire town of Rheinfelden and maybe even meet a real stork. Near the Storchennestturm is the enclosure of the Rheinfeld goats. According to the legend, the tailor saved the town from the Swedes together with a goat (Swiss German: Geiss). Here you can find out in a funny way how this story happened.
Practical information:
The Stork Nest Tower is a wonderful sight especially for animal lovers. The storks of the tower return every year, because the animals are loyal to the eyrie. Therefore, it is assumed that the same pair of storks returns to the top of the tower year after year.
