Extended: "In the footsteps of Freddie Mercury" extended city tour in Montreux

From the Montreux Convention Centre (2m2c), your guide will take you and other participants on this special city tour. You will walk about one kilometer along the shores of Lake Geneva. The musical history of Montreux, particularly during the 1970s and 1980s, will be explained during the walk.

You will hear authentic anecdotes and stories about Freddie Mercury, the singer of the band Queen. He stayed in Montreux for several years. His personal assistant over 12 years, Peter Freestone, tells the story in the audio guide (in English). The guide himself has been in close contact with him for 20 years.

Your guide is also the president of the Montreux Celebration association, which annually organize few days in honor of Freddie Mercury. The end point of the walk is the famous Freddie Mercury statue on the lakeshore.

On several days, Freddie Mercury is commemorated with various events. They take place, for example, around the statue, in the casino and other places in the city of Montreux.
