City Guide
The city of Rheinfelden is the perfect place to take a historical journey through time and get to know beautiful buildings and works of art. You will meet your guide in the courtyard of the town hall and start the tour from there.
The small town was under Habsburg rule for over 500 years before the Confederates arrived and ushered in a whole new era. On this tour, all the influences that the Habsburgs had on the city are shown in a particularly exciting and versatile way. Among other things, you will see beautiful works of art in the Town Hall, including the famous painting of Maria Theresa. Buildings and structures that are real witnesses of the Habsburg rule are also on the program.
The Commandant's House is another highlight of the tour. The Austrian commandants lived here during the Habsburg period and impressively show how the administration and rule functioned at that time
Embark on a wonderful journey through time in the old town of Rheinfelden and admire the fascinating sights.
