The Alp Playground offers children of all ages a variety of activities. The climbing and balancing structures specifically enhance children's motor skills, promoting coordination and balance through play. Most of the play equipment is made from wood and other natural materials, while necessary metal parts, like the slide, are made from stainless steel. The fall protection mostly consists of wood chips, contributing visually to a pleasant atmosphere. Parents can observe from the adjoining restaurant, the tent bar, or a picnic area, or simply enjoy the scenery.
The large sandbox is shaded by a protective sun sail. The climbing towers are equipped with additional features like slides, ropes, and nets. A small stream adds extra fun for kids who love to dam water or build bridges. Children can really let off steam on the exercise equipment, slides, swings, seesaws, and trampolines. The balancing and climbing area forms a solid foundation for later family hikes in the mountains. The Alp Playground Bort is perfect for a family outing.
The playground is for kids from 2 years old.
On the way back, you have the option to rent a trottibike for yourself and your kids in Bort. You can ride comfortably and leisurely down to the valley station in about 30 minutes. You'll be standing upright on a wide footboard. Since the large tires have good tread and the fork is spring-loaded, even bumpy stretches of road are no problem. A mini trottibike can be used from a height of 125 cm. A helmet is mandatory and is provided for free.
Note: Only one person may ride a trottibike at a time.
Right at the alpine playground, you'll find an E-bike charging station.
The Alpine Playground is open daily during the summer half-year until mid-October during the opening hours of the mountain railroad. The use is free of charge.
Mountain bikes are transported with the Forstbahn for a fee, but e-bikes are not.
The Alpine Playground is located in Bort, just above Grindelwald. Bort is the mid-station of the cable car between Grindelwald and Grindelwald First.
The valley station of the Grindelwald First cable car is situated in the upper village center of Grindelwald. From the train station, it's about an 8-minute walk.
To combine the Alpine Playground with the First Cliff Walk, you can take the First Cable Car from Bort to the mountain station in 14 minutes, or you can do it the other way around.
